 Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation (born on October 1st 1969): American comedian, comedian, musician, and writer. He appeared on the Comedy Central Presents special and hosted his own show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has been a mainstay in a number of films, including The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis has also voiced characters for animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011). Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st October 1969. The son of community center manager Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil vendor Harry Galifianakis. His mother is an English-Irish and Scottish and his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized in accordance with the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He is the father of Merritt his younger sister and Greg the older brother of his. The cousin of his Nick Galifianakis (Washington Post cartoonist) is his uncle. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School. He then attended North Carolina State University and majored in communications. He worked as radio operator at a public access station while in college. In the year 1991, he taught an waltz class and met Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live two weeks after his TV debut with Boston Common. He has stated "I did work on Saturday Night Live for two weeks, and Britney Spears was host one week when I was there. He wrote a sketch. Will Ferrell was act as a bodyguard to her belly button, and we were going reduce Will down to fit into an abdominal button. When I explained the idea to her, she simply looked at the sketch. She finally said, "Yeah that is funny." Galifianakis appeared in Out Cold and also had roles in Corky Romano and Below, Bubble Boy and Heartbreakers.
